PROCESS
ARTWORK
Artwork can be in any format, from a line drawing to a photograph. In order to get the best results if you have the artwork in .ai, or .eps format this is a great help.
VECTORISING AND COLOURING
Once we have the artwork, we may need to clean up the design to enable the digitiser to see how we would like the finished product to appear.
DIGITISING
When we have finalised the artwork, we forward this to the digitisers. They used specialised software programs to convert the artwork into an embroidery file.
When preparing a design, the digitiser takes into account what the stitched out design is going to be used for. A logo designed for caps normally begins sewing from the middle of the design and moves outwards. The same logo on a shirt front may start in a different spot.
The digitiser will also make decisions as to what will best stitch out. A printed logo may be printed at anything from 300 to 1200 dots per inch. An embroidered design is generally sewn out at 64-72 stitches per inch, so some adjustments have to be made.
VERIFYING
Once we receive the file, the design is then verified by our in-house embroiderers. This means that they stitch out the design to see how it will appear and make any further adjustments required according to the type of material the embroidery is to be used on. Sometimes, adjustments to the size of text or small elements of the design will be required.
PROOFING
Before we embroider any of your garments, we stitch out the design for you to look at.
At this stage, we can add extra texts or elements to the design. We can also change the colours used to match your corporate colours or to meet your requirements.
Once you are satisfied with the stitched out design we are then ready to embroider your garments.
OWNERSHIP
The costs associated with digitising your files are "one-off" costs.
Any additional embroidery work using this design does not require further digitising. You own the original file. We keep a copy of the file in our system and if requested will give you a copy on CD rom to keep in your files.
Should you ever have the need to change embroiderers, we will gladly forward them a copy of the file for their use.
